In the winter season the storms bring waves to the North Shore of the islands, in the summer times the storms will bring wave to the South Shores of the islands. There are sometimes unusual off season swells. Oahu is most famous for surfing, such at places like Banzai Pipeline, Sunset Beach, and Waikiki Beach. Waikiki Beach is good for beginners and offers surfing instructions by various companies. Good to take a lesson and do some research on customer reviews. Surfing is harder than is looks but it is also more fun than it looks. Safety is your first priority when surfing.
